Hi, Welcome to yoga class. Here are a few guidelines that you should follow while practicing yoga.
- Try not to eat for 2 hours before practicing. If you need to eat, keep it very light.
- Breathe throughout the whole class. If you find your self holding your breath come out of the pose and go back to breathing.
- Let me know if you have any injuries or painful areas.
- Let me know if you have high blood pressure or other serious conditions.
- Let me know if you are pregnant. There are modifications that are important for pregnant women.
- Do not do any pose that hurts. Let me know if something bothers you, and I will help you with a modification.
- Remember to drink plenty of water after the class. You can drink some during class too.
- Be as fragrance free as much as possible.
- Wear comfortable clothes that will let you bend and stretch.
- Some women do not practice yoga during menstruation. Listen to your body's message always. It is not advisable to practice inversions during menstruation.
