This month I am continuing with Yoga4Arthritis. In June I went to teacher training conducted by this group. The instructors taught me a lot about osteo and rheumatoid arthritis. We experienced and practiced a specific yoga routine designed for people who are coping with the many manifestations of arthritis. Medical research solidly support the benefits of yoga stretching, moving and breathing for the human body. In September I will begin the 40 hours of mentoring supervision by one of the instructors that I met at the training. I will be teaching classes based on the schedule/routine created by a team of medical and healing professionals. The mentor will watch some of my classes via Skype. I will also be required to do research and writing about arthritis and yoga. This is a very exciting and hopefully it will serve us all with even better yoga and ideas for living pain free. For the time being I am going to devote my Wednesday night class to this project. Anyone is welcome to join us Wednesdays at 5:30 PM at my home studio. |
